My design is inspired by the simple things in life; those things that we oftentimes take for granted: nature, meaningful relationships, the little glimmers of joy that we experience even in the roughest of times, etc. I love to get to the heart of a business - the real, raw, hardworking reality of a craft - and create something that completely encapsulates that, while still appealing to target markets. Designing this way, creates a completely unique logo with a core meaning that encapsulates the business in a personal way.
My name is Laura Kate Horn, and I am a Graphic Designer. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with a concentration in Graphic Communications. From brand identity to packaging design, I thoroughly enjoy it all! Since graduating from college in 2018, I have worked as a Bench Jeweler (I worked at a jewelry store and learned how to polish, set stones, repair jewelry, size rings, etc.), a Laser Engraver, and finally I have come to put my degree back to work as a freelance Graphic Designer. Although I was working other jobs, I was still utilizing my design skills, as well as doing freelance jobs here and there.
My biggest design strengths are logos and brand identity, as well as packaging design. As stated previously, I enjoy researching and getting to the raw core of a business, and designing a logo and brand identity around that. This makes for something truly unique, yet personal. Cohesiveness is key! The most satisfying thing to me is when each deliverable designed for a business looks intentional, and as though it "belongs" with that brand. Problem solving is another strength of mine. I enjoy figuring out what works best, and why it works for a particular brand.

Work Terms
I am available every day. In many cases I will not be actively working on designs on Sundays. I am committing my days to freelance, therefore I will be fully focused on client work!
My hourly wage is currently $25/hour
