About

Music Composer, Editor, Producer and Mixing Engineer.

Matt Berman’s musical accomplishments span from the studio to the stage. He is a musician and composer based in New York City. Matt’s desire for film scoring began while studying saxophone at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. His mindful and astute ear can be heard within this body of work with Monroe through his writing (both musically and lyrically), performances and production quality. Monroe has opened for Justin Timberlake on his Man Of The Woods tour and Aaron Carter on his Love tour in 2019. In previous years, Matt has played saxophone and keys for Brandon Flowers’ (The Killers) Desired Effect world tour (2015-16). Since being mentored by notable, George Fontenette, and recent collaborations under Monroe with Jake Owen, Matt has discovered a way to combine his talents and understanding for composition and sound development with the moving picture.

Matt was featured twice in Billboard Magazine for his work with Snoop Dog’s Doggystyle Records, and was featured with CyHi the Prynce on his track and music video for “Long Damn Time” (2017). Matt’s musical accomplishments have been recognized in Alternative Press, Popdust, Substream, and Billboard Magazine. Additionally, Matt has appeared in featured roles on HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire” and the CW’s “Gossip Girl”.
