About

Changing the world. One kaizen at a time.

I started my learning journey at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada, where my Japanese Coordinators began the re-programming process of my "thinking way". Beginning with the basics of material ordering and flow, to demand planning and eventually spearheading company wide projects, the puzzle pieces of the Toyota Production System began to click into place for me.

From there, I applied TPS thinking and techniques in automotive and non-automotive environments, from basic process improvements, people development activities and business strategy all the way to culminating with the implementation of plant wide pull production and materials ordering systems.

My pace of learning increased greatly with personal coaching and mentoring from world class practitioners at the Toyota Supplier Support Center (TSSC), including it's former president, Mr. Hajime Ohba, as well as several senior executives at Magna International. I continued to learn by doing and teaching, supported the global transformation of Magna using the people & leadership development concepts of TPS.

Now at True North Thinking Inc., I have applied the lessons learned from almost every industry you can imagine, in massive factories to small, custom job shops and everything in between. Our team grew to include 12 people, including administrative and business development support for the front line group of former Toyota managers, engineers and specialists. Our focus is on business based improvements to safety, quality, delivery and cost through people constantly improving their own work and solving problems daily, to make things better for society.
