TELEMARKETING / TELESALES / INSIDE SALES: My expertise has been demonstrated with 22 successful years in sales and marketing: i.e. telemarketing/telesales/inside sales, business development, appointment setting, lead generation and outside sales. I have set up 4 companies telemarketing/inside sales departments. From conceptionplanned, organized, developed, managed and executed successful telemarketing strategies and marketing activities with each of these 4 companies. My responsibilities were to market and sell products and services via telephone and direct mail. I developed a plan of action (proposal), a training manual, scripts, direct mail campaigns (created questionnaires, letters, flyers, collateral materials, faxback sheets), trained new employees (telephone etiquette & procedures) set quotas/goals for each new employee, determined methods to track results (inquiries, leads, sales), report results to Management on a weekly or monthly basis. As a working manager with these companies, I was able to attain initial sales within 40 days of employment and achieve each annual sales quota for the departments. My exceptional organizational and time management skills enabled me to work on multiple projects simultaneously and complete projects ahead of schedule while working with an inside sales staff. With my positive and energetic personality, I trained and motivated the inside sales staff with tried and proven telemarketing principles and time management skills. Telemarketing/inside sales were accomplished through effective prospecting techniques, eye-catching direct marketing campaigns, excellent written and verbal communication skills, an energetic and illuminating personality, a persuasive professional character and superior follow-up skills. My marketing attributes include my ability to create attention-getting business correspondence, direct marketing collateral and promotional campaigns. Additionally, I provided lead generation to outside sales on software priced between $25K to $250K. I scheduled appointments for investment personnel to discuss retirement portfolios with school staff.
DIRECT MAIL: Handled over 70 direct mail campaigns from conception to completion; campaigns were for sales, promotions, surveys, inquiries, etc.; mailers went to a range of 500-5000 names with 2-4 inserts. Marketing collateral was created for selling 1) financial accounting software, checks & money orders and automation solutions to banks & credit unions; 2) an on-line information research solution to law firms and government entities; 3) health and natural food products to retail stores; 4) technical products and services to federal, state and county governments; and 5) marketing services to small businesses.
SURVEYS / MARKET RESEARCH: 1) Conducted a 2-month telephone survey for an investment banker magazine with all cancelled subscribers (about 3,000-4,000) to determine why they had not renewed subscriptions; 2) conducted a 2-3 month telephone survey to determine if all General Ledger customers (about 4,500) would be interested in purchasing a software for reports (IQ) and 3) conducted a 2-month survey to determine if all Accounts Payable and Payroll customers (about 3,000) would be interested in purchasing a software for writing checks (Create-A-Check). I utilized my marketing background to successfully develop scripts, questionnaires and letters for surveys/market research.
REPORTS: Being results-oriented, I tracked and reported direct mail campaigns, market research and sales figures. Prepared detailed reports: daily reports consisted of calls made, calls completed, type of calls (inquiry, survey, sales, direct mail, prospecting); weekly reports consisted of total calls completed, units sold, percentage of calls to completion, percentage of calls to sales; response rate for direct mails; monthly reports consisted of strategies, forecasting, number of new contracts closed and sales.
