My mission as translator is to convey the source text with all its nuanced meanings, and to do so in a flowing, idiomatic, easy-to-read style.

My track record in translation really goes back 27 years, to 1992 when i graduated from Herzen, but i had to indicate "15" as the options on here go no further than 15. Fired up by my love for the English language, I have consistently shown excellence in my work as translator from English to my native Russian, and from Russian to English, translating in genres as diverse as poetry and technical manuals, including everything in between, and serving a motley clientele of law firms, human rights watch organizations, research think-tanks, investment banks, Russian and EU government agencies, NGOs, art museums and media. I have been freelance since the summer of 2002. Before going freelance, i had held a succession of office jobs since 1992, first with some international corporations, then the US Consulate General in St. Petersburg, and eventually a language services agency, which raised no objections when i decided to go freelance in 2002 as i would continue to work for that agency, as well as the numerous other customers i had at the time.
