Virtual Assistant, Administrative, Data Entry, Social Media Marketing, Proofreading & Copyediting

I have extensive experience in Office Administration, Coordination and Customer Service and am very comfortable working remotely, as well. I was most recently working as an Administrative/HR Assistant at a local organic farm and market; however, the company was recently downsized, and my position was phased out.
I have attached my resume for your review; I acknowledge that I have a significant gap in my employment history and would like to explain - in 2011 I became ill and was diagnosed with several severe neurological and autoimmune diseases. I was bound to a wheelchair for close to four years and my doctors did not believe I would ever walk again. I was also heavily medicated; so much so that I suffered complete kidney failure in the summer of 2015 and a month later had a heart attack and went into a coma for two days – both times I had to be resuscitated by EMTs. I made the decision, then, to not only get myself out of the wheelchair but also get myself off the medications that were only causing more health issues. Through intense physical therapy, I was able to not only get back on my feet but also walk without any assistive devices. I spent the next couple of years weaning off the medications with the help of holistic remedies.
I recently began taking online courses in Proofreading & Copyediting, Virtual Assisting, and Creative Writing to help improve upon the skills I already have and to learn some new ones, as well. I hope to have completed the certifications for these courses within the next two months.
Currently, I am looking for a position in an environment where I can not only excel but also learn and grow within the company. Something that would allow me to work from home is preferable due to my health issues, which do flare up from time to time, making it rather challenging to work in a traditional office setting.
