Experienced attorney, writer, editor, and executive assistant seeks new opportunities.

I’m a licensed attorney (Iowa and Florida) and have over seven years of diverse legal and compliance experience, which includes practicing healthcare and corporate law for three years, graduating in the top 10% of my law school class while earning my MBA, and working as a Freelance Law Clerk for the past four and a half years. I also served as Captain of Drake University Law School’s National Moot Court Team.

As a Freelance Law Clerk for nearly five years, I’ve provided legal research and writing services to law firms across the U.S. on a telecommute basis. I’ve also had the pleasure of working for the legal and compliance departments at a major national Professional Employer Organization – my primary responsibilities in this role were to review the PEO’s contracts and policies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and to modify the PEO’s contracts, policies, and agreements to bring them into compliance. I also assisted the PEO with negotiating vendor and service contracts.

I left my position as an associate attorney in Bradenton, Florida in May of 2009 when my husband began the first phase of Navy flight school. Now almost five years and seven moves later, it’s become clear that a traditional career in the legal field will not be possible while my husband serves his commitment. I’m extremely grateful for every opportunity to use my legal training and I truly enjoy legal research and writing, and administrative tasks.
