Writing Contemporary, Historical and Paranormal Fiction

I worked in a world of healthcare and hospitals as a therapist and clinical leader, dealing with daily dilemmas, making decisions, writing reports, conducting and collating risk assessments and, of course, supporting people at times of stress. Those people included both staff colleagues and clients.

I left it behind in the months before Covid crept across Europe to live in the Berry in France, settling up home in a 'hidden' part of France. We created a new life and as I settled into a different rhythm of life I created a new career. I’d always written and since 2017 had been writing on the themes of Mindfulness in Everyday life, Positive Psychology and Slow Travel. I began to blog about our life here and adapted the term Cottagecore to French Countrycore living. In November I noticed the Cranes migrating to the south and in February the strange days of hoar frost which cloaked the landscape. We emerged in May (in Lockdown) to hedges flowering with white Blackthorn and in those months of confinement in a new country it gave us hope for the future.

I live in a region surrounded by history, with medieval buildings, vibrant markets. I walk across ancient sites where Romans lived and loved. Today I write this profile from a tiny village in Umbria, Italy where you can imagine a Borgia Castle or a Grand Tour with a Mr Darcy arriving at an isolated inn on a grand tour of Europe. The forest is dark and stretches endlessly in the distance and brings the imagination alive.
