About

Columbia University-Educated English Expert

Hi! My name is Rachel. I currently live in Montreal, but I'm American and originally from Minnesota. I was a full-time English as a Second Language public school teacher in the U.S. for 10 years, but moved to Montreal to accompany my husband who is training as a liver/transplant surgeon. I can't teach here in Canada, so I'm hoping to help you with whatever projects you have!

I have a Master's degree from Columbia University in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, and am an expert in all things related to the English language. I have experience proofreading and editing medical publications, as well as countless student essays! I am also fluent in Spanish, which was my undergraduate major, so I can help with translating from Spanish to English or vice-versa.

While I was getting my Master's degree, I worked as a paralegal for a Trusts and Estates attorney in New York City. I transcribed many legal documents for him using a dictaphone every day, and completed general administrative tasks. He was so pleased with my work that he offered me a full-time position with him, but I declined in order to finish my teacher training.

I have excellent computer skills. I am very meticulous, detail-oriented, professional, punctual, and can help you with many tasks quickly. My grammar and spelling skills are stellar.

I can help you transcribe audio files, edit/proofread any English or Spanish documents, be your Virtual Assistant, do data entry, web research, or whatever you need!

If you want your job done right the first time, without any headaches and hassles, then I am the freelancer for you! Please contact me with your job opportunities. Thank you for reading!
