Rico Mejia is an award winning L.A. based fashion & beauty advertising photographer who has a passion for life, music & art. "Photography has been a big part of my life since early on & I became a photographer to meet other like minded creatives, travel & be a free spirit. Photography has allowed me that freedom."
Early influences were Irving Penn, Pete Turner, Ernst Hass, Ansel Adams & Patrick Demarchelier.
A graduate of Loyola Marymount University with a B.A. in Communications, Rico has since worked in the Film & Television industry for Sony, Warner Bros, Disney & MCA. He has assisted for such renowned fashion photographers as Patrick Demarchelier, Jean Baptiste Mondino, Gilles Bensimon, Andrew Eccles & Matthew Ralston on numerous editorial fashion campaigns for Vogue, Elle, Marie-Claire, W, Harper's Bazaar, Interview & many other publications before stepping out on his own as a fashion & beauty photographer.
Rico is a contributing photographer to GenLux, Inland Empire & Fine magazine. In addition he's contributed to Sports Illustrated, Cinematographer, Windplayer and various other publications.
