About

Get it done right the first time with a professional who listens to your needs.

I decided to come to Carnegie Mellon to develop a broad base of expertise in data analytics. Through courses such as Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Management Science, and SAS Analytics, I’ve been armed with the latest techniques. Currently, as part of my Systems Synthesis project at Heinz, my team is testing political party “rules of thumb” against historical election results. This capstone class asks students to work as independent consultants for outside organizations, and we are lucky enough to have the Pennsylvania State Democratic Party Chairman and the Allegheny County Republican Chairman as our clients. Using GIS, we are analyzing voter trends over the past ten years in Allegheny County using data mining and will make predictions about the November elections based on our analysis using R, regression models, and GIS.

Last summer I was lucky enough to work for the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh in their Housing Department. I helped create GIS maps to help strategize spending the 30 million dollar Choice Neighborhoods Initiative Grant the City of Pittsburgh received for the neighborhood of Larimer. By combining the tax delinquent databases with the real estate department’s property database, we were able begin building plans for the revitalization of the Larimer neighborhood.

In work and in play, I like to think big and push myself. Last year, I brought the Politics and Policy Club back into existence because I felt that students at our school needed more exposure to the political world. As President of the club, I have brought in political figures such as Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, and Pittsburgh’s Mayor William Peduto. For fun several years ago, after finishing my two years with Teach for America, I set out to bike the entire West Coast of the United States in 34 days. From Vancouver, Canada, to Tijuana, Mexico, my biking partner and I carefully mapped out objectives and achieved them.
