Psychologist, Writer and Researcher

My name is Ruth and I’m a writer, researcher and psychologist from Exeter in the UK. I currently write regular blogs for an eating disorders website and also write about a range of other psychology-related subject matter, such as emotional intelligence, mental health, relationships, self-development, wellbeing and mindfulness. One of the things I like to write about is psychological research, and to make it accessible to everyone so that they can gain personal benefits from this knowledge and apply it to their own lives.

As psychology overlaps with so many areas of life, I also frequently apply my research skills to a variety of other subjects. I have recently ghost-written a book on cybersecurity which is soon to be published, and I enjoy writing about digital technology and its influence on human behaviour and society at large.

In recent years, I've earned a Social and Organisational Psychology MSc from the University of Exeter and a Psychology BSc from the Open University. Prior to completing my degrees, I worked in the field of mental health for ten years in both community and psychiatric ward settings. This invaluable experience informs and, I believe, enhances my ability to write about many psychological issues.
