Translations for Business Engineering in Search for Excellence in Organizations

My professional life was marked by my first job at Texas Instruments, where I had the opportunity to read a letter written by Fred Bucy in 1969 - "How We Measure Managers". Almost 50 years have passed by and all the "kpi`s" of that letter are more current than ever - a must read for any leader or manager for any organization.

As my guiding light, the concepts of that letter have helped me achieve many goals and objectives with many different companies where I worked with wonderful people. I combine my business and MBA knowledge together with people to pursue important productivity and quality improvements in processes that should have a positive impact on P&L. However, the improvements are not possible without the engagement of managers and leaders, because if they lack engagement, most likely the people they lead will not be engaged either.

I began as a process engineer at a 2500 people plant that assembled semiconductor chips for TI. I left the company to pursue an MBA at Incae Business School, which was funded by Harvard in Central America to improve business knowledge in the area.

Through training and knowledge in JIT, Cell Manufacturing and Lean Manufacturing, I improved efficiencies and performance at Semicon Tec.

After this experience, I helped in the plant transfer of a medical devices company - Precision Concepts Inc. from Long Island, NY into Costa Rica, reducing costs and cycle times significantly and with a huge positive impact at the bottom line.

Then as an Engineering Manager for Sylvania Lighting International, I applied the same principles to develop new products that generated additional income for the company - something never seen before in the history of the Costa Rican plant.

Several companies came later in which I worked with teams of people who were high performance personnel. My main objective was to develop good managers because a good manager always develops good managers.

Work Terms

I prefer to get paid by project advancement instead of hours - with deliverables. I also do translations English - Spanish, especially business and management related as well as Engineering translations.
