About

It depends. When I use the system I do copy and paste from the job announcement.

I sometimes copy and paste relevant keypoints found in the announcement, but only if they are within my previous work experience and are not otherwise "perfectly" clear in my resume. Sometimes the announcement lists something that I have done previously, but simply had forgotten about/failed to include, or I believed it wouldn't be important/relevant to most applications. All in all, it has been helpful in getting referrals, but I am unsure as to how resume scanning, for keywords at least, works in practice.

I tend to take a "better safe than sorry" approach to my applications, so that's my primary rationale for doing it. I've never read anything negative about taking such an approach, but others may have more experience in this area. That being said, and eventhough I do get referrals regularly, I am constantly revising my resume to improve upon it and re-focus it as needed.

Hope this is a little helpful! :D

Do any of you copy/paste words from the job vacancy into your resume? Has it made a big difference? I do make sure that my resume is relevant to the vacancy, but not necessarily copy/paste all the time. How do the keyword searches (for internal HR purposes) work?

Thanks for your
