About

Mechanical Engineer | Researcher - Renewable energy; Thermal energy storage; Metal ion batteries; Water desalination.

During my undergraduate program, I felt resentment for poor resource management, lack of technical professionalism and insularity of the educated community from the ‘actual’ needs of society. The desire to combat these issues served as an impetus for concreting my passion for engineering and exploit my technical knowledge for the amelioration of society. The problems had two-fold implications. The first one; insufficient policies and resolve of the governments for addressing these issues. The second one being a lack of sense of responsibility among the educated community for contributing to the sustenance of society.
To annul my trepidation I embarked on the expedition to resolve this socio-political crisis with my technical and social expertise. Being a chauvinist of democracy I worked as a political activist in the general elections 2018. I campaigned for elaborating on the manifestoes of political parties regarding energy, health, education, and social justice. Making people aware of such considerations for the electoral process was a success, unique in its kind. On the other hand, in my capacity I endeavored to extricate people from the blistering predicaments of energy and water scarcity.
I began working in the area of feature-based electrical desalination systems, Capacitive Deionization (CDI), for their energy conservation and sustainability. I focused my research on the fulfillment of desalination objectives i.e. steady and controlled desalination with TiO2-KOH treated carbon electrodes. The results were quite encouraging for water purification and electrode fouling. To combat the energy crisis, I worked on thermal photovoltaic (TPV) systems for their system-level optimization and thermal management using composite phase change materials. The objective of this on-going research is to develop high round trip efficient systems with low cost per unit power.

Work Terms

I spend most of my time in learning new skills and enhancing my knowledge. This is particularly important to me being a researcher that I keep on updating and accumulating my skills and knowledge. Therefore, I work not for earning (its a secondary purpose) but for learning. Working on multiple and diverse projects gives me a platform to implement my skills and competences in new avenues. It is helpful in inter-disciplinary learning. So, I work with enthusiasm of learning.
My communication style is highly formal but interactive. I have been a presenter at different forums for representing my University. I prefer to communicate in English and distant communication is best suitable to me via email.
