Shannon Baker has:
Has a BFA in illustration from Lesley College of Art and Design in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
She has played college level basketball and was awarded Most Valuable Player as a freshman.
After completing two and a half years at Lesley she was accepted to go to work for The Walt Disney World Company in Florida. Here she got to see what it takes to make a client happy as well as how to maintain a good work environment and have healthy relationships with coworkers.
Following her 5 months of working at Disney she worked at Topix Media Lab in Manhattan, New York, where they create special edition magazines for larger companies including Newsweek and TV Guide. Here she developed her design and illustration skills through learning and watching her fellow coworkers. She began to produce published work including illustrations in multiple categories including science and sci-fi as well as creating layouts for pages in the magazine. She now lives in Portland, Maine and is a freelance illustrator as well as the Director of Marketing and Design at Falmouth Country Club.
