About

I provide quality improvement services to government and nonprofit human services organizations.

Charity Bower, Owner of SolOG Consulting, has 20 years of experience administering human services programs and applying Quality Improvement techniques to improve processes, performance and client outcomes. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Iowa State University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, where she specifically studied the administration of family and child-serving systems. Charity also earned her Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from Purdue University and has completed the child welfare-specific process improvement EDGE curriculum offered by The Center for State Child Welfare Data at Chapin Hall.

Charity has held leadership positions in County & State government agencies, as well as non-profit organizations in Iowa and Wisconsin, including: Program Coordinator for a Supervised Visitation Center, Program Director in Family Court, Quality & Innovation Center Director (Child Welfare), Regional Licensing Chief for Child Care Regulation and Director of Quality Improvement for a non-profit child welfare, community and clinical services organization. She has experience in managing performance-based, child welfare contracts. Charity utilizes a mixed method approach using a variety of analytical tools combined with a constant focus on family and child experiences and outcomes.

In her free time, Charity enjoys digging in her garden, spending time with family, curling up with a great book, baking some killer chocolate zucchini bread, enjoying comedy, concerts and exercising. Charity is committed to environmentally friendly work practices such as minimal travel, deploying virtual collaboration methods, reducing unnecessary waste (think paper and ink!). She also is deeply committed to lending her expertise to all types of child and family-serving organizations and will work to create affordable options for projects that will yield improved outcomes for children and families.

Work Terms

Please visit my website: www.sologconsulting.com for specific services that are provided and project examples. I will provide a free 30-minute consultation to review the scope of your project and ensure that I can help. Thereafter, I would provide a quote for any future work. I prefer communicating via email or a Teams / Zoom call. I typically bill organizations on a monthly basis for work performed until project completion, but I am flexible based upon your organization's policies.
