Perfectly Put – because you need it that way
You need your copy perfect with no hassles; I love to write and sub and pride myself on accuracy and attention to detail.
I am a surfer girl and freelance writer and proofreader from West Wales, UK.
I have a BA and MA in English Literature from Cardiff University and have just finished a PhD in Creative Writing at Aberystwyth University where I wrote a novel and accompanying critical commentary, as well as teaching on undergraduate and further education courses and being a representative for the Centre for Women's Writing and Literary Culture. I wrote reviews and interviews for The New Welsh Review journal.
For five years I worked at the Assistant Editor of SurfGirl magazine and the Sub-Editor for CARVE surfing magazine and ThreeSixty bodyboarding magazine. I wrote articles for all three magazines as well as sub-editing copy and proofreading every word that went into each publication.
While at Orca Publications in Cornwall I also wrote and edited online content, non-fiction books such as The Surfing Tribe and looked after the company websites.
I have had a textbook for high school students published and have contributed to many other publications. My niche is surfing and the outdoor lifestyle; I also write about the environment, yoga and general health issues, pets and literature.
I was trained in proofreading and sub-editing while studying for my MA in English Literature and have also had training at the LCC.
