My writing experience is both diverse and substantial. I developed excellent writing skills as a student of the humanities, completing extensive coursework in English while earning a Bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature at the University of Rochester as well as a Master’s degree in Literary and Textual Studies at Bowling Green State University.
As both an undergraduate and graduate student, I developed the ability to construct organized, articulate, and persuasive pieces of writing through composing innumerable written assignments that consistently earned high marks (I graduated with a 4.0 GPA from BGSU). I also presented a number of these papers at national research conferences where I received positive feedback from academic professionals. Additionally, I composed an eighty page thesis while at BGSU that was subsequently nominated for the Thesis Award.
While earning my Master's, I helped college students to develop writing proficiency as an instructor in the General Studies Writing program and as a Writing Consultant at the BGSU Learning Commons. In these roles, I helped students to develop writing proficiency in areas such as organizational structure, grammar and mechanics, and developing well-supported ideas and arguments.
I am also a practiced article writer with experience that reaches back to my time as a contributor to my undergraduate institution’s student-run newspaper. While at the Campus Times, I contributed engaging content that was later published and also worked as a Copy Editor where I further honed my attention to detail and mechanics.
I also write creatively and have produced dramatic and humorous fiction that has received positive reviews. My ability to craft a story through writing is a skill that proves to be valuable in whatever area that I write in.
And, I have experience writing copy for marketing efforts aimed at driving sales and developing a brand.
