A developmental review is a detailed review of your writing, analogous to a journal's peer review or an instructor's feedback, depending on the circumstances. When I review your work, I will address your underlying argument—or content if your writing is not argumentative. I will clearly communicate what works and what does not, where your presentation is strong, and where its problem areas are. I will provide guidance on how to improve your work where it is needed. Developmental reviews do not include the smaller, structural edits that a line edit yields. Developmental issues must be addressed before the particulars of the presentation.
