Former UN report writer

$35/hr Starting at $350

I have a 15 year track record of working with the United Nations (UN), international organisations and NGOs in UK, US, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Maldives, Senegal and Nigeria as a project coordinator, report writer, researcher and technical expert. While my specialism is in drug demand reduction, HIV, crime and security, I have amassed a wealth of experience in report writing, research study development, epidemiology, proposal development and communications. I have authored, co-authored or contributed to national drug use and drug related health surveys, reports and research in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Maldives for UNODC. The reports, studies and papers I have produced aim to bring about policy-change and inform policy-makers and service providers on evidence-based models for future implementation. I hold a Masters in Criminal Justice and Forensic Processes thus my academic background coupled with my professional experience have enabled me to work as a technical expert in drugs, crime, security, prison reform while my skills in research and writing lend well to more general areas of expertise. I currently work as an independent consultant and currently work as a research consultant for a private company which has carried out research in resilience, disaster risk reduction, labour welfare and law which highlights the transferability of my skills in research and analysis as well as my ability to gain a deep understanding of complex information effectively and translate that into results. I have developed robust proposals and tenders for projects globally on behalf of the organisations I have worked for. Throughout my career, I have adopted an approach to collaboration in the work place that is based on respect for diversity, empathy and humility and in line with a deep commitment to equal opportunities and inclusion.
