Excel / Google Sheets / Python Developer
My passion for digital organization and systems started when I worded as a file clerk tracking loans in the secondary market by manual 3x5 cards. I didn't have a computer background, but thought there had to be a way of to store this information in our computer files. I asked our IT department if we had some kind of operational system we could adopt that would streamline the process. Working them, we created a data entry program specific to tracking these loans. It proved to be extremely cost effective and easy to administer. This experience opened the door in the company to move into their IT department.
I built on baseline knowledge I actually self-taught programming while working for a company that sold time on their mainframe. 3rd shift operations was slow and during these downtimes, taught myself how to program by writing a loan amortization program in Cobol.
I continued building on both IT support and programing support. I added VBA and Excel to experience, again self taught, to find a way for a health insurance group to input data and generate proposals. Continuing to expand my knowledge has allowed me to branch into a successful freelance VBA programmer for over 20 years.
Projects include:
Creating a CMS system for a Condo Mgmt Company in Seattle to keep track of maintenance schedules and tasks
Parking Space tracking system in Google sheets to ttrack of guest parking spot usage,
Created s CMS system for a Physical Therapy company to track physical therapy to cancer patients in all stages.
Dynamic forecast worksheet for Fiskars. This involved a single worksheet that automatically expanded and contracted based on the selection of 5 interconnected and self-adjusting slicers connected to 12 pivot tables to drill down into the data. The program also included a method of tracking forecasting sessions, which could be recalled or removed as needed. This was a fun and challenging project.
