Highly experienced (and excellent) writer, editor, proofreader
As a youth I always wanted to be a writer. I earned a too-good-to-pass-up scholarship to go into engineering! With my engineering and MBA degrees I worked professionally in engineering, marketing, and management roles for a Fortune 500 company (living in US, Hong Kong, and Europe) for 28 years and then started teaching and consulting on my own. That's when I got back to writing, with my first job here on Guru in 2005.
Since then I've been able to leverage my unique background to help clients around the world. I have superb English editing skills. (On Elance I was consistently in the top 20 of more than 300,000 freelancers in the writing/editing category.) I'm also able to use my knowledge of science, love of math, broad global travel, and general inquisitiveness to help authors deliver accurate and appealing content in fiction and non-fiction.
I have written or edited thousands of travel guides for Expedia. I've edited for yoga instructors, chefs, management consultants, standardized test preparers, and a neuroscientist. I enjoy writing or enhancing projects in just about all genres.
Work Terms
I will generally respond to communications within one day. I strive to deliver contracted materials on time or early. Clients are usually very happy with my work. If not, I will make adjustments as needed to earn their satisfaction.
For large projects I'm happy to do a short sample upfront for clients to see what my work looks like. Then we'd agree to break the project into milestones for deliverables and payment.
