Vincent Russell (University of Colorado Boulder) is a doctoral student of Communication Studies studying the ways communicative practices promote democracy and social justice. For three years, he was the president of the grassroots organizing effort, Participatory Budgeting Greensboro that secured the city’s first PB process in 2015 with $500,000 for community-inspired projects and $200,000 in organizing funds. His community and academic writings are found on blogs, websites, Communication Education, Partnerships: A Journal of Service-Learning & Civic Engagement, and the Carolinas Communication Annual.
He served as an editorial assistant for the academic journal Partnerships where he was responsible for proofreading articles for grammar and APA style compliance. Vincent also formatted articles according to style guidelines and distributed each published issue through various promotional channels.
In his spare time, he participates in various activist organizations and plays drums.
