3D Environment Artist Needed – Mid-18th Century “Treasure Island” Scenes for Babylon.js
I’m looking for an experienced 3D environment artist to create three detailed, historically inspired environments that will be used in a Babylon.js project.
Project Overview:
You’ll be creating three environments based on Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, set around the mid-18th century:
1 The Inn – A coastal inn similar to the Admiral Benbow Inn. Weathered exterior, stone and timber architecture, warm lighting, and a sense of age and atmosphere.
2 The Ship – A sailing vessel inspired by the Hispaniola. Period-accurate design with deck and hull detail, suitable for rendering and exploration.
3 The Island – A tropical island environment with beaches, cliffs, palm trees, and key landmarks such as caves and coves.
Requirements:
• Models must be compatible with Babylon.js (GLB or GLTF format).
• Optimized for real-time rendering with efficient polygon counts.
• Proper UV mapping and PBR texturing.
• Realistic or slightly stylized look that fits the 18th-century time period.
• Clean, organized files and materials.
Deliverables:
• 3 environment scenes in GLB/GLTF format.
• Associated textures and materials.
• Preview renders or short turnarounds of each environment.
Ideal Freelancer:
• Proven experience creating historical or nautical 3D scenes.
• Comfortable with exporting and optimizing models for game engines or WebGL.
• Communicative, reliable, and able to work with visual direction and reference material.
