🎯 About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting & Financial Reporting Officer to take ownership of the daily accounting operations of our French Headquarters.
This role is fully remote, but requires perfect fluency in both French and English to manage communication with French financial institutions, auditors, and our international teams.

The person will coordinate closely with our external French accounting firm to ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts. They will also support cashflow planning, supplier payments, financial reporting, and compliance under French GAAP and IFRS.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

1. Monthly Accounting Coordination (HQ France)
      •     Liaise with the French accounting firm to provide all required monthly data.
      •     Prepare and transmit:
      •     Bank statements
      •     Supplier invoices
      •     Expense reports
      •     Payroll updates
      •     Intercompany reconciliations
      •     Fixed asset schedules
      •     Ensure accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
      •     Perform first-level review of accounts before final approval.

2. Cashflow & Treasury Management
      •     Prepare weekly and monthly cashflow forecasts.
      •     Monitor daily cash positions and anticipate funding needs.
      •     Process supplier payments following the internal approval workflow.
      •     Track loan repayments, grants, and other financing flows.
      •     Support treasury planning across multiple subsidiaries if required.

3. Financial Reporting & Analysis
      •     Support monthly financial reporting to the COO, CEO, and board.
      •     Prepare budget vs actuals analyses and financial dashboards.
      •     Maintain up-to-date accounting files and documentation.
      •     Support intercompany account reconciliation and group reporting.

4. Compliance & Accounting Standards
      •     Ensure compliance with French GAAP (Plan Comptable Général) and internal policies.
      •     Support any IFRS reporting or consolidation requirements.
      •     Prepare materials for audits, tax filings, statutory submissions, and regulatory declarations (URSSAF, TVA, etc.).
      •     Ensure strict adherence to monthly and annual deadlines.

5. Xero Accounting System Management
      •     Maintain an accurate chart of accounts in Xero.
      •     Ensure proper posting and reconciliation of transactions.
      •     Support automation and process optimization within the system.
      •     Train relevant team members on best practices for data entry, invoicing, and approvals.

🧩 Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills
      •     Strong knowledge of French accounting rules (PCG).
      •     Understanding of IFRS principles.
      •     Solid experience with Xero (or comparable accounting systems).
      •     Strong Excel/Google Sheets capabilities (pivot tables, formulas, analysis).
      •     Experience with cashflow management and treasury processes.

Experience
      •     3–5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit.
      •     Experience collaborating with a French accounting firm is a strong advantage.
      •     Experience in a startup/scale-up, multinational environment, or multi-entity structure preferred.

Soft Skills
      •     Highly organized, rigorous, and detail-oriented.
      •     Excellent communication skills in both French and English (mandatory).
      •     Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
