I engaged an out-of-state(NC) contractor to build a single-family log home in Deposit, NY for $283,095 and paid an initial $58,800 deposit. Despite all plans and permits being in place, no construction or material delivery ever started. Instead, the contractor suddenly issued a revised estimate of $469,938 and, according to several New York agencies, is not even licensed or registered to build here.
I now want to move forward with legal action for breach of contract do I can terminate the agreement and recover tge full $58,800. I am looking for an attorney who can handle necessary legal documents for either litigation or arbitration and represent me through the entire process until a final resolution.
