I am seeking a skilled comic book artist to illustrate Issue 1 of an original dark fantasy comic series titled Midnight Mares.
This series is part of a larger story universe currently being developed for long term storytelling, including comics and animated media. The tone blends fantasy adventure, mystery, and subtle horror elements, set in a dreamlike town where strange forces are beginning to awaken.
The world features stylized equine characters, atmospheric environments, and cinematic storytelling. I am looking for an artist who can help visually bring this world to life with strong panel composition, mood, and character expression.
Project Scope
Artist will illustrate approximately 20 to 24 pages for Issue 1.
This includes:
Full comic pages with multiple panels
Fantasy environments and town settings
Character acting and expressions
Atmospheric lighting and cinematic framing
Full color is preferred.
Style Direction
Looking for an artist comfortable with:
Dark fantasy themes
Dreamlike environments
Subtle eerie or mysterious atmosphere
Stylized characters with personality
Strong storytelling through visuals
The style should feel cinematic and immersive, not overly cartoonish and not hyper realistic.
Reference materials including character designs and environment artwork will be provided.
