Project Description: Need an experienced computational biologist to develop and implement algorithms for pangenome graph analysis. Work involves supporting the Human Pangenome Project and Vertebrate Genomes Project.

Key Tasks:

  • Develop sequence alignment and graph building methods for pangenome analysis

  • Implement algorithms to process and analyze large-scale genomic datasets

  • Create reproducible computational workflows and pipelines

  • Document code and methods using Git/GitHub

  • Optimize existing tools for scalability and performance

Required Skills:

  • Strong programming skills (Python, C++, or similar)

  • Linux/command line proficiency

  • Experience with bioinformatics tools and genomic data

a) Assignment: This agreement is personal to Freelancer. Accordingly, Freelancer may not assign any rights or delegate any duties under this agreement.


b) Audit. In compliance with the requirements of Tenn. Code Ann. § 12-3-602, Freelancer shall maintain documentation for all charges against the Institution under this Agreement. The books, records and documents of Freelancer, insofar as they relate to work performed or money received under this Agreement, shall be maintained for a period of three (3) full years from the date of the final payment, and shall be subject to audit, at any reasonable time and upon 30 days notice, by the Institution or the Comptroller of the Treasury, or their duly appointed representatives. Such audits may occur for up to 3 business days and will not unreasonably interfere with Freelancer’s day-to-day business operations. These records shall be maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.


c) Debarment: Freelancer hereby attests that the following are true statements:

1. Freelancer is not currently debarred by the U.S. federal government.

2. Freelancer is not currently suspended by the U.S. federal government.

3. Freelancer is not currently named as an “excluded” Freelancer by the U.S. federal government


d) Illegal Immigrant Attestation. In compliance with the requirements of Tenn. Code Ann. § 12-3-309, for any contract for goods or services purchased by the Institution, Freelancer hereby attests that it shall not knowingly utilize the services of an illegal immigrant in the performances of this Agreement and shall not knowingly utilize the services of any subcontractor who utilizes the services of an illegal immigrant in the United States in the performance of the Agreement.


e) Iran Divestment Certification. Freelancer certifies, under penalty of perjury, that to the best of its knowledge and belief Freelancer is not on the list created pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 12-12-106 (Iran Divestment Act). Freelancer further certifies that it shall not knowingly utilize any subcontractor that is on the list created pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 12-12-106.


f) Governing Law. The internal laws of the State of Tennessee (without regard to its conflict of law principles) govern all matters arising under or relating to this agreement.
