Developer for Commercial Print

💡 Overview


I am a live reseller on Whatnot and I want to create a sellable plugin or desktop app that automatically prints a buyer label every time an item sells during a Whatnot live show.

When a purchase happens, the buyer’s username appears on the screen — I want that name, the item, and order info to instantly print on my iDPRT SP320E thermal printer (3-inch labels).

Ultimately, this app will be sold to other Whatnot sellers as a paid, downloadable tool.

⚙️ Project Scope

Phase 1 – Core Functionality

Connect to Whatnot’s API or webhooks to detect live sale events in real time.
Capture buyer username, item title, and order ID.
Format and print the label automatically using TSPL commands (or via iDPRT SDK).
Ensure compatibility with iDPRT SP320E (3-inch) and future support for Rollo or Zebra printers.

Phase 2 – Commercial Features

Build a simple desktop app (Electron.js, Tauri, or similar) for Windows/macOS.
Add user authentication and licensing system so it can be sold (Stripe, Gumroad, or LemonSqueezy integration).
Include basic UI settings:
Connect printer (LAN or USB)
Choose label format (buyer name, SKU, barcode, etc.)
Test print function

Create auto-update and error logging features for easy support.

Phase 3 – Packaging & Sale

Package as installable software (.exe / .dmg).
Provide installation instructions and activation workflow.
Prepare for resale via Gumroad, Stripe, or digital license system.

🧩 Ideal Candidate

Experience with API/webhook integrations (e.g., Shopify, Etsy, eBay, etc.)
Familiar with thermal printers / TSPL / ZPL / ESC/POS
Strong Node.js or Python development skills
Understanding of desktop app packaging (Electron/Tauri)
Knowledge of payment gateways and license management
Bonus: Familiar with Whatnot, OBS, or live-selling platforms
