Subject: Script Polish & Line Editing Request: [THE LAST COUNTDOWN] (Apocalyptic Sci-Fi/Dystopian Thriller)
I am looking for an experienced, native-English Hollywood script editor to provide a professional polish and line edit for my feature-length screenplay.
[Project Details]
1. Title: THE LAST COUNTDOWN
2. Genre: Apocalyptic Sci-Fi / Dystopian Thriller
3. Length: 135-140 Pages in Hollywood Standard Script Format /96 Pages in My Script Format (Approx. 23,000 words)
4. Tone: Gritty, high-stakes, and grand in scale
[Logline] In the wake of a catastrophic global disappearance, a materialistic Wall Street executive must navigate a starving, dystopian world ruled by a tyrannical dictator. He ultimately faces a deadly choice: accept a biometric microchip to survive, or face the guillotine to save his soul.
[Scope of Work Requested] Please note that I am NOT looking for developmental editing, structural changes, or character arc revisions. The plot and pacing are fully locked. This script was originally written by a non-native speaker and has been translated/formatted into standard Hollywood formatting.
I specifically need:
- Line Editing & Action Line Punch-ups: Tighten the action descriptions. Make the prose punchy, visceral, and highly readable, matching the tone of modern Hollywood thrillers and epic blockbusters.
- Dialogue Polish: Refine the dialogue and subtext to ensure it sounds 100% natural, conversational, and native to an American audience, while maintaining the specific voice of each character.
- Proofreading: Fix any lingering grammatical errors, awkward phrasing, or formatting typos.
[Goal] The ultimate goal is to submit this polished spec script to The Black List and literary managers. The read needs to be flawless and cinematic.
[How to Apply]
1. Your rate for this specific scope of work (Line edit/Polish for135-140 pages in Hollywood Standard Script Format/ 96 pages in my format/ Approx. 23,000 words).
2. Your estimated turnaround time.
3. A link to your IMDb or a brief summary of your screenwriting/editing credits.
4. Provide a 2pages of sample edit of the attached scenes (from EXT. CENTRAL PLAZA – DAY scene in page 2 to before INT. CHARLIE'S PENTHOUSE - DINING ROOM-MORNING scene in page 4)
I will select an editor based on the quality and "voice" of this sample.
I have attached the first 5 pages for your review. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Daniel Cho
