About the Opportunity
Productive Computing, Inc. (PCI), is seeking talented FileMaker developers with at least 2 years of experience programming in Claris FileMaker, who have a passion for solving problems, love the challenge of constantly learning, and push themselves independently to master new skills to produce innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
The job’s primary functions are to develop and maintain cross-platform legacy and custom FileMaker solutions from various industries within a specified timeframe working on our Maintenance Support team. During the first year, you will increase your development skills within Claris FileMaker application, handle one-on-one working sessions with customers, assess and resolve issues with solutions, and find ways to improve features and functionality. By providing excellent customer service, you will build lasting relationships where customers come back to do more and refer us to others.
Training
PCI offers a comprehensive training program to ensure we get you to the level where you are ready to handle small development requests in our customers' live solutions. Certification is a requirement of employment, but we will provide resources and training to obtain a current certification within 60 days.
Qualifications
- 2+ years in software development with Claris FileMaker or other applications, and/or a bachelor's degree in computer science.
- Demonstrate skills to visualize, design and develop relational databases including planning, schema, tables, integrations, UI and UX.
- Understanding of core programming principles and documenting workflow.
- Solid critical and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced and challenging environment, where you are learning constantly while delivering solutions to your customers in a timely manner.
- Ability to examine existing solutions for flaws and determine solutions that improve stability, performance, and security.
- Ability to pivot between multiple customer solutions of various industries, different workflows and complexity.
- Enjoy giving top-level customer service by solving problems, ensuring the best outcome for the client within budget and timeline.
- Candidate must have a keen eye for detail, have excellent time management, with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Must be a team player, but also self-motivated with the ability to work alone.
- Other qualifications that are a plus, but not required
- FileMaker Pro Certified in at least in one version between FileMaker12 and the current version.
- Experience with any of the following: JSON, API, OAuth, JavaScript, HTML & CSS, cURL, PHP, MySQL, Java, Python, etc.
- Ability to plan and execute full software development lifecycles for each assigned project, adhering to development standards.
- Experience working in a time and materials environment.
Full-time Position. Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm Pacific, Eastern, Mountain & Central respectively.
Location: We are a 100% remote company with employees spread across the US. We have a minimum requirement for equipment, network speed, etc., to work from home. Candidates outside of the US will be required to attend staff and client meetings during our regular business hours as outlined above.
