I am seeking an experienced freelance cosmetic chemist specializing in green chemistry and organic personal care to develop a custom formulation for a travel-sized personal wipe product.
The brand is playful and approachable, but the product itself must be a premium, highly effective, and hypoallergenic solution.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop a shelf-stable, organic-compliant percentage formula based on a provided ingredient brief.
* Source appropriate, natural-identical preservative systems to ensure a minimum 12-month shelf life.
* Target a specific skin-safe pH balance between 4.5 and 5.5.
* Formulate for maximum "glide" using plant mucilage to prevent friction.
* Provide a complete INCI ingredient list and mixing instructions suitable for scale-up at a contract manufacturer.
Required Qualifications:
* Proven experience in formulating natural, organic, or "clean" personal care products.
* Familiarity with raw materials that are Ecocert, COSMOS, or NOP organic compliant.
* Experience with wet wipe substrates (specifically non-woven bamboo) is a massive plus.

* The Glide Challenge: Traditional wipes can cause friction on sensitive skin. We want to utilize natural plant extracts to create a slippery, comforting barrier during use.
* Safety First: Must be strictly hypoallergenic, free from synthetic fragrances, and free from common irritants.
* Stability: The final solution must hold up to being sealed in individual travel sachets and stored in varied temperatures (bags, cars, pockets) without degrading or growing microbial life.
Proposed Active Ingredients & Desired Functions
We have benchmarked the following organic ingredients for the solution. We are looking for the chemist to determine the precise percentages and the safest natural preservation system to make this viable:
