AI-First, Rapid ShippingRole title

Front-End MERN Engineer (React/Next.js) + Capacitor (iOS/Android) + UI/UX Design

Type

Contract to start (2–4 weeks trial). Long-term role for the right person.

Location / Time

Remote. Must overlap daily with ICT (Thailand) working hours for fast feedback loops and quick turnarounds.

What you will be doing

You will take the SportsFixtures.net front-end and push it to production-ready across:

  1. Web App (Next.js / React)

  2. PWA (installable, offline-safe basics, push-ready foundation)

  3. iOS + Android apps shipped via Capacitor (production builds, store-ready packaging)

This is a delivery role. You’ll ship improvements daily, move fast, and keep quality high.

What “success” looks like (non-negotiable)

  • You can start immediately and ship meaningful progress in your first 48 hours.

  • You produce production-grade UI: clean spacing, consistent components, responsive layouts, fast load times.

  • You don’t hide behind blockers. You communicate clearly, propose solutions, and keep shipping.

  • You work AI-first to move faster (Copilot/Cursor/Claude/etc.) but you still understand what the AI produces and you can debug it properly.

Core responsibilities

  • Build and refine the SportsFixtures.net UI to look and feel like a top-tier sports scores site.

  • Implement fast, scannable “Live Now / Ticker / Browse” sections with excellent mobile gestures and desktop behavior.

  • Improve performance (Core Web Vitals, bundle size, image handling, caching strategy, rendering strategy).

  • Convert web to PWA properly (manifest, icons, install flow, basic offline strategy, error states).

  • Wrap and ship iOS/Android using Capacitor:

    • Native build pipeline

    • App icons/splash screens

    • Deep links + routing sanity

    • Store-ready builds (TestFlight / Play Console)

  • Clean component system:

    • Reusable UI kit

    • Design tokens (spacing, typography, colors)

    • Consistent states (loading/empty/error)

  • Maintain a tight dev loop:

    • Daily commits

    • PRs with clear notes

    • Fast fixes

Required skill set (must have)

  • Strong React + Next.js (App Router preferred), TypeScript

  • Solid UI engineering fundamentals:

    • Responsive design

    • Component architecture

    • State management

    • Accessibility basics

  • Capacitor experience shipping real apps:

    • iOS + Android builds

    • Device testing

    • Release process

  • Strong CSS skills (Tailwind acceptable if done properly)

  • Proven ability to ship quickly without wrecking quality

  • Portfolio with production links (not just mockups)

Strongly preferred

  • Sports / live data UI experience (scores, schedules, “live” UX)

  • Experience with real performance work (not just “we should optimize”)

  • Experience packaging PWA + native wrapper in one workflow

  • Familiarity with CI/CD for frontend builds

  • Experience working with Strapi (API integration, auth, roles)

Your working style (this matters)

  • You communicate like a pro:

    • clear daily updates

    • fast responses during overlap hours

    • no disappearing

  • You handle ambiguity and still move forward.

  • You can take feedback without ego and implement fast.

  • You are accountable. If you commit to a deliverable, it lands.

Interview process (fast)

  1. Skills test (time-boxed, real-world task)

  2. Review + live walkthrough

  3. Short screening call (15 minutes)

  4. Paid onboarding sprint (2–4 days)
If you perform, you stay. If not, we stop quickly.
