Project Overview:We are developing "Steppe Khanate" (Bozkır Kağanlığı), a historical Massively Multiplayer Online Real-Time Strategy (MMORTS) game inspired by classics like Travian and Tribal Wars. The game is set in the ancient Turkic Steppes, featuring nomadic camps, resource management, strategic warfare, and dynamic seasons.

We have a functional React MVP, but it currently looks like a standard web app. We need a talented Game UI/UX Artist to give it a soul—creating an immersive, historical, and professional visual identity.

The Vision (Visual Style):

  • Theme: Ancient Turkic/Central Asian History (Huns, Gokturks, Seljuks).

  • Mood: Atmospheric, gritty, and historical. Think parchment textures, leather, worn metal, tribal motifs, and earthy tones (Beige, Brown, Turquoise, Dark Gold).

  • Reference Games: Travian (Classic), Crusader Kings 3 (UI layout), Tribal Wars 2, Northgard.

Scope of Work:

  1. UI System Design (The "Skin"):

    • Redesign current React components (Buttons, Modals, Panels, Inputs) with a custom game art style.

    • Create a reusable "UI Kit" (Frames, borders, headers) that scales well on both Desktop and Mobile.

  2. Core Screen Designs (High-Fidelity Mockups):

    • Village View: A dashboard showing the camp, buildings, and resources.

    • Global Map: Designing map tiles (Grass, Snow, Mountain, Forest) and movement arrows.

    • Military/Training: Screens for recruiting units (Archers, Cavalry).

    • Reports: Making complex battle data look readable and engaging.

  3. Iconography:

    • Create or source high-quality icons for Resources (Wood, Iron, Food, Horses), Units, and Action Buttons.

  4. UX Improvements:

    • Improve the user flow for mobile responsiveness (the game must be playable on phones).

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in Game UI/UX Design (Mobile or Web Games).

  • Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Photoshop, or Illustrator.

  • Ability to create "Skeuomorphic" or "Stylized" game art (not just flat corporate design).

  • Understanding of Responsive Design (how UI adapts from PC to Mobile).

  • Bonus: Experience with historical or strategy genres.

Deliverables:

  • Figma/Adobe XD source files.

  • Exported assets (PNG/SVG) ready for our developers to implement.

  • A Style Guide (Fonts, Colors, Button States).
