The historical landfill close to Johannesburg, South Africa, has an existing groundwater monitoring plan. Every 3 - 6 months, groundwater is sampled through a network of boreholes and tested for numerous parameters.
We need a MODFLOW model of this landfill that shows groundwater flow and contamination.
We also need the leachate level/volumes in the landfill to be modelled.
You will be provided with the existing Groundwater model (PDF document), GIS locations of the landfill (Boundaries) and locations of boreholes, as well as the heights of boreholes.
Monthly height of water in leachate monitoring wells will be provided, and weekly levels of leachate in the collection sump will be provided. Quarterly or bi-annual reports showing levels in boreholes and chemical composition of water will be provided for the last 5 - 8 years
