Hi,

We are seeking a CAD data supplier or technical source capable of providing OEM-accurate CAD reference geometry for Harley-Davidson Touring models, primarily Road Glide and Street Glide platforms, covering model years approximately 2008 through current production. This CAD data will be used strictly as engineering reference material to establish accurate dimensional baselines prior to the development of custom components and assemblies.

We are developing custom Harley-Davidson big-wheel bagger builds utilizing 30–34 inch front wheels, full custom bodywork, air-ride suspension systems, corrected rake and trail geometry, and high-output audio integration. These builds are engineering-driven and require precise baseline geometry to support advanced CAD modeling, clearance analysis, suspension and steering validation, component design, and fabrication planning.

The primary data requirement is frame and chassis reference geometry, including Touring frame outer geometry, steering neck location, rake and trail reference, wheelbase, ride height, front and rear axle centerlines, swingarm geometry, and all major suspension and shock mounting points. Internal tube construction is not required; however, all exterior geometry and mounting interfaces must be dimensionally accurate.

We also require front-end and steering system reference geometry, including fork outer geometry, upper and lower triple trees, front axle location, brake rotor and caliper mounting references, fender mounting points, and steering sweep or lock-to-lock clearance envelopes. This data is critical for accurate modeling and validation of large-diameter front wheel integration.

Wheel, tire, and clearance reference data is especially important. This includes OEM wheel centerline locations, OEM tire size references, fender and fairing clearance envelopes, and suspension compression envelopes. This information will be used to simulate large front wheel fitment combined with air-ride drop, ensuring safe operation through full suspension travel and full steering sweep.

Powertrain data is required at the external envelope level only, including engine outer geometry, transmission outer geometry, and primary drive outer envelope. Internal engine components are not required; this data will be used solely for clearance and packaging validation.

Body and mounting reference geometry is also required, including OEM Road Glide inner and outer fairings, windshield interface geometry, saddlebag shells and mounting brackets, rear fender geometry, fuel tank outer geometry, floorboard mounting references, and exhaust clearance envelopes. These components are necessary for accurate design of custom bodywork and high-output audio enclosures while maintaining proper fitment.

Preferred CAD file formats include STEP (required), IGES, X_T, or native SolidWorks files. All geometry must be properly scaled, aligned, and suitable for engineering use, with an expected dimensional accuracy of ±0.5 mm or better. Visual meshes, artistic models, game assets, or low-poly geometry will not be accepted.

We understand that Harley-Davidson does not publicly release OEM CAD files. Acceptable data sources include professionally reverse-engineered CAD models, laser or structured-light scanned assemblies, CAD developed from factory service documentation, or private CAD libraries created during prior professional builds. Applicants must clearly state how the data was created and disclose any known limitations.

For the right supplier, this will be an ongoing requirement rather than a one-time request. Our development program involves multiple builds and configurations, and we anticipate the need for regular access to accurate CAD reference data over time. As such, we are interested in establishing a long-term working relationship with a qualified supplier who can reliably support our projects on an ongoing basis.

If the supplier also has access to additional CAD libraries, reference datasets, or technical geometry for related platforms, components, or product categories, we would be very interested in learning more about those capabilities as part of a broader technical partnership.

This project is strictly for reference geometry acquisition. We are not requesting custom design work, fabrication drawings, or visual renders.
