Hi
I would like to discuss the development of a scoreboard for use in a game that I play called Lawn Bowls.
I have developed an app that helps players score the game whilst playing, downloaded onto their mobile phone which will communicate (assume via Bluetooth) to the scoreboard and change the numbers/score when necessary.
The distance that it needs to communicate over is 40 metres
Size of end scoreboard approximately 800mm x 400mm face - but this is a guide
The main board will (may) include an ESP32 SoC and the necessary circuitry for power management and battery charging (rechargeable).
Probably, using RGB LEDs - 7-segment structure
Bluetooth; however, an external antenna may be required on the receiver side (scoreboard).
Think the boards may well need to be equipped with connectors, allowing the digit boards to be connected to the main board possibly.
End scoreboard will be used both indoor and outdoors so needs to be weatherproof
Ideally I need a prototype building to test, then I can source a manufacturer such as JLCPCB or PCBWay - or through yourselves if this is possible

Example of finished board above
On the field where the game is played, there may be 6 of these scoreboards so need a way to identify a particular board eg each scoreboard has a unique identifier for the app to pick up. Hope that makes sense.
The app (90% developed) will have the ability to change the colours of the Home and Guest scores. This is necessary to show who is leading the game.
As i say this will be used outdoors so need to make sure the scores are visible in the sunlight.
Initially I'd like you to check that the above suggestions are suitable, then draw up plans for the design. If possible then produce a working prototype if this is in your scope of expertise.
I might have missed something, but have tried to give you an idea of the project.
Would this be something you'd like to work on for me ?
