Job Title:

Licensed CPA Needed for IdenTrust Certificate Authority Attestation Letter – EV Certificate Validation

Job Description:

We are looking for an active, licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to review our business verification documents and complete a standard Certificate Authority attestation / professional opinion letter.

This letter is required by IdenTrust, our Certificate Authority, to finalize validation for a TrustID EV Certificate / Extended Validation certificate application.

Our business is a well-established brick-and-mortar company located in Minnesota, with approximately 16 years of continuous operating history. We have state registration records, Articles of Organization, utility documentation, tax records, and other business verification documents ready for review.

The specific issue IdenTrust flagged is that the previous attestation form was completed incorrectly because the attorney/accountant section contained our business information instead of the professional signer’s information. We need a properly completed, signed version of IdenTrust’s own pre-formatted attestation letter.

Important Scope Clarification:

This engagement is not intended to be an audit, review, compilation, tax engagement, or broad financial assurance engagement.

However, because the word “attestation” can have a specific meaning under CPA licensing rules, we need a CPA who is comfortable independently determining that this work is within their professional scope, licensing, firm permissions, insurance, and applicable state CPA rules.

The expected scope is limited to confirming business identity and authorization information for Certificate Authority validation, such as:

1. The business is a legitimate registered organization.

2. The business has a physical operating address.

3. The business has been operating for a documented period of time.

4. Blake Thoennes is authorized to act on behalf of the organization.

5. The signer is an active licensed CPA whose authority to practice can be independently verified.

Scope of Work and Deliverables:

1. Review the corporate verification documents we provide.

2. Review the IdenTrust attestation template before accepting the engagement.

3. Complete and sign IdenTrust’s pre-formatted Attestation Letter for Organization Authorization.

4. Provide your active CPA license number and state of issuance.

5. Provide a public method for IdenTrust to verify your authority to practice.

6. Be available for a brief callback from IdenTrust to confirm that you completed and signed the letter.

Documents Available for Review:

We can provide, as applicable:

- Articles of Organization

- Minnesota Secretary of State registration records

- Business tax records or tax filing history

- Utility bills showing business address

- Business identity documentation requested by IdenTrust

- Owner / authorized representative identity documentation

- The IdenTrust pre-populated attestation letter template

- Any additional CA-requested verification materials available through the IdenTrust application portal

Mandatory Contractor Requirements:

Please do not apply unless you can meet all of the following requirements.

1. Active CPA License

You must be an active, licensed CPA in good standing. Your license must be publicly verifiable through a state board database, CPAverify, or similar public licensing lookup.

2. Comfort With CA Attestation / Opinion Letter

You must be willing to review the IdenTrust template and determine whether you are professionally permitted and comfortable signing it.

We are not asking any CPA to sign something outside their authority, professional standards, insurance coverage, firm permit, or licensing rules.

3. Public Business Footprint

Your accounting practice must have a publicly verifiable business footprint.

IdenTrust may independently verify your practice using public telephone, licensing, and map/business directories such as Google Business Profile, Yellow Pages, state board records, or similar sources.

The address and phone number on your letterhead should match publicly verifiable listings.

4. Mandatory CA Callback

You must be willing and available to answer a brief verification callback from IdenTrust’s validation or auditing team.

The callback is expected to confirm that you completed and signed the letter.

5. License and Contact Details on Letter

The attestation form requires the professional signer’s:

- Name

- CPA license number

- State of licensure

- Email address

- Phone number

- Signature and date

- Link or contact information where IdenTrust can verify authority to practice

Certificate Authority Details:

Certificate Authority: IdenTrust

Certificate Type: TrustID EV Certificate / Extended Validation Certificate

Purpose: Certificate Authority validation for a software code-signing certificate application

Form: IdenTrust Attestation Letter for Organization Authorization

Submission Method: Signed form is submitted back to IdenTrust for processing

Deadline:

IdenTrust previously stated that the application would remain on file for 45 days from the date of submission.

Upon finding a CPA we will apply to register.

Because of that, we are looking for a CPA who can review the template and complete the form promptly once documents are provided.

To Apply, Please Confirm:

1. What state is your CPA license registered in?

2. Are you currently active and in good standing?

3. Are you authorized and comfortable signing Certificate Authority business verification / professional opinion letters?

4. Do you have a publicly listed office phone number where IdenTrust can reach you for the callback?

5. Does your business address and phone number match public listings or state board records?

6. What is your estimated turnaround time once we provide the IdenTrust template and supporting documentation?

7. What is your fixed fee or estimated cost for this engagement?

Additional Note:

We understand that some CPAs and accounting firms do not perform attestation or assurance-related work, even for seemingly simple business verification letters.

We respect that limitation and are only seeking a CPA who can independently confirm this is work they are comfortable performing.
