Research
We are seeking a detail-oriented Virtual Assistant to support a structured research initiative focused on identifying U.S. government contracting (GovCon) companies that are hiring for growth-related roles and may be strong candidates for a fractional senior federal growth engagement.
This is not a sales role, recruiting role, or outreach role.
Your responsibility is research, screening, and structured qualification only.
You will use LinkedIn Jobs to review job postings, apply a defined screening rubric, and prepare qualified opportunities for review.
Key Responsibilities
- Search and review LinkedIn job postings using predefined keywords and filters
- Screen postings to eliminate obvious execution-only sales or BD roles
- Identify companies showing signs of structural growth, scale, or platform challenges
- Extract and organize job and company data into a clean tracker
- Batch qualified postings and run them through a standardized evaluation prompt
- Deliver a weekly shortlist of qualified companies (no outreach required)
What This Role Is NOT
- No cold calling
- No LinkedIn outreach or messaging
- No applying to jobs
- No recruiting or candidate sourcing
- No creative writing or copywriting
This role is strictly analytical research and qualification.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with LinkedIn, especially LinkedIn Jobs
- Excellent reading comprehension and pattern recognition
- Ability to follow a clear SOP and screening rubric exactly
- Highly organized and comfortable working with spreadsheets
- Prior experience as a research VA, analyst, or operations VA preferred
Experience with government contracting terminology (federal agencies, contract vehicles, set-asides) is a plus but not required.
Time Commitment
- 15–20 hours per week
- Ongoing engagement (not a one-off task)
- Weekly deliverables and review cadence
Success in This Role Looks Like
- Reviewing 100+ job postings per week
- Producing 10+ qualified opportunities per week
- Clean, consistent documentation
- Minimal rework required
