I'm looking for a good and affordable journalist–someone who can write business and technology articles for a niche market my publication covers involving payments and mobility.

You'll need to be able to collect additional information from sources, including by email, since all articles are originally written and contain some new or exclusive information.

You'll also need to be able to cut through hype and corporate talking points and not be spoon-fed information. You should be eager to dig for information and not take no for an answer when an official or executive refuses to give up the information you are asking for, especially if that information should be made public.  You should persistently--yet always politely--continue to try to obtain the information.

Accuracy is the most important attribute of every article.

As editor, I can and probably will ask you to try again to find more information that nails down the story and makes it exclusive. And please note that as you gather more information, sometimes the angle or focus of the story will change somewhat.  That should be expected. Yet, I find that many "journalists" are content to summarize information that has already been widely released, add a few talking points from the given organization and believe they've done their job--and then refuse to gather any more information. If this is you, please don't apply.

And it goes without saying that you shouldn't apply if you are someone who just wants to rewrite press releases or other content found on the internet. We, of course, endeavor to get out ahead of press releases. Content aggregators and AI robots need not apply, either.

The set price is per article is around $300. For certain articles that don't require as much work, the fee could be lower. The job will pay more as the applicant proves him or herself. And I reserve the right to pay bonuses for articles that uncover important information or really break new ground.
