I am seeking an experienced and competent furniture designer and engineer with whom we can collaborate with to assist us in the design and development of an extensive range of high-end, multi-functional furniture products. This project includes the design and engineering of various types of luxury beds, sofas, chairs, tables, dressers, cabinets and more. We deal in furniture of all types and styles; Italian, European, modern, contemporary, futuristic, and multifunction (everything furniture).
The designer should incorporate very detailed features in each design such as ; material quality, comfort, solid structural build (inner/outer), ergonomics, convertibility, functionality (electric recline, components, wiring, mechanical/mechanism placement and operations). The furniture will target a diverse audience, therefore the designs should be versatile, but maintain a high radiant level of luxury elegance and sophistication.
Key Task:
*Designing and engineering luxury furniture pieces
*Creation and integrating mechanical, mechanism, components,
and functionality into each design
*3D/4D renderings (inner and outer layered design)
*2D designs
*CAD ready designs
*Sewing/stitching pattern and designs
*Structural analysis (ANsys)
BOM and BOL list
Manufacture instructions/guide
Key requirements:
*Versatility with hands-on expertise and a thorough understanding of furniture design and engineering, with a keen sense for current trends and techniques on a broad variety of luxury furniture production.
*Experience in designing upholstered and solid wood (carvings) furniture
*Ability to visualize with a keen eye for detail, and quality control, bringing these design concepts to life.
*Creativity and technical ability to engineer furniture with functional features (such as electric recline, mechanical, mechanism, components, bluetooth stereo, and lighting).
*Ability to consult and assist the factory/workshop in the production process.
*Proficiency in constructing luxury furniture using a mixture of premium materials, including but not limited to wood, metal, glass, fabric, leather, various cushioning sponges and more.
*Solid technical skills like 3d/4d modeling, 2d designs, CAD and more would be advantageous
*Strong portfolio showcasing previous luxury furniture projects.
This would be a great opportunity for the right “independent” candidate or furniture design/engineering agency that is looking for long-term design work. They must be willing to provide us with top tier design service at a lower “wholesale” cost, reason being we will be using their services on a continuous basis, in a multitude of ways.
