Need an experienced OneDrive/Sharepoint professional to resolve performance issues within our organization.
This professional needs to know the proper setup for a OneDrive/Sharepoint synchronization where large, numerous files are involved, some with long paths. The synchronization knowledge is mostly what we need.
Our current setup is as follows:
- We have OneDrive (Personal) installed on a virtual machine. It is currently being used by two users but will need it to work for 15 users.
- I also have the same OneDrive installed on my desktop PC. I want to be able to sync file changes between my PC and the virtual machine, and sync file changes within the virtual machine for every logged-in user.
- Currently, we have 19k files in 17k folders on our two Sharepoint sites. Total size is approx 35 GB. We have two shortcuts setup from Sharepoint to OneDrive, so that the users can access the two Sharepoint sites via Windows Explorer.
We need a professional to solve the following problem:
- Whenever a user makes file changes (renames/deletes/moves/copies), the OneDrive seems unresponsive and appears to be constantly syncing. The changes may be small but the sync time is abnormally long. Many times we need to relink OneDrive or manually resync before it finishes.
- The constant syncing then impacts the performance of our other apps - for example, Adobe Acrobat becomes unresponsive while the syncing is happening.
