W!se is a national nonprofit based in New York City dedicated to promoting financial education and literacy, fostering social entrepreneurship, and preparing youth for college and the workplace. We are seeking an exceptional Part-time (contract) Sales Associate (20 hours per week), with a proven record of accomplishment selling educational products and programs, to grow our Financial Literacy program in 8 Mid-Atlantic and Southeast states. Our ideal sales associate will have in-depth knowledge of and experience with the sales process, excelling at lead generation, relationship building, and closing deals. We’re seeking a quick learner with strong negotiating skills, and someone with a track record of success who can inspire the same in others. **The position will be remote, based in Virginia/Mid-Atlantic Area and will report to the Senior Director of Financial Literacy in New York. Some regional travel will be required.**
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and execute plan to grow W!se’s Financial Literacy program in the target states
- Generate leads/build relationships with schools, districts and departments of education
- Spearhead outreach to and recruitment of schools
- Meet with existing/potential clients to deepen relationships and understand their needs
- Identify emerging trends, market shifts, competitive opportunities and threats
- Develop and implement new sales initiatives and strategies
- Provide weekly and monthly reporting of results and performance
- Generate in-person meetings to finalize potential sales
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in planning and implementing sales strategies
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build rapport, and a positive attitude
- Proven ability to drive sales, build relationships, and close deals
- Adept with direct sales through in-person meetings or calls
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Dedication to providing great customer service
- High degree of computer proficiency and experience with CRM software
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team player
- Energy to move multiple projects forward in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
