We are looking for an experienced Python/Django developer to contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of an existing web platform.

The selected developer will begin gradually with clearly defined assignments. If the collaboration is successful, the workload may increase over time.

Current architecture:

  • Python 3.9

  • Django 4.2

  • Django ORM and migrations

  • Authentication, permissions, and user roles

  • Django templates, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

  • Git and branch-based development

The assignments may include:

  • Developing new features

  • Improving existing functionality

  • Creating or modifying models, views, forms, and templates

  • Implementing business rules, permissions, and access controls

  • Fixing bugs

  • Optimizing code and database queries

  • Creating and reviewing migrations

  • Writing automated tests

  • Documenting completed changes

Required profile:

  • Proven professional experience with Python and Django

  • Strong knowledge of Django 4.x

  • Good understanding of the Django ORM, migrations, authentication, and permissions

  • Experience with Django REST Framework is appreciated

  • Ability to understand and maintain an existing application

  • Clean, secure, tested, and maintainable code

  • Professional experience using Git

  • Clear and responsive communication

  • Ability to provide realistic estimates

  • Interest in a stable and progressive collaboration

Important:

We are looking for an independent developer who will personally complete the work. Agencies, teams, and applications involving subcontracting or delegation will not be considered.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a short technical evaluation in a separate, isolated repository. A confidentiality agreement must be signed before access to the code or detailed instructions is provided.

To apply, please answer all the following questions:

  1. How many years of professional experience do you have with Python and Django?

  2. Which version of Django are you currently using?

  3. Describe a recent Django project you personally worked on and explain your responsibilities.

  4. Do you have practical experience with Django REST Framework, the Django ORM, migrations, authentication, permissions, and automated testing?

  5. Which tools do you use to write and run your tests?

  6. How do you organize your Git workflow before delivering a feature?

  7. Will you personally complete all the work without subcontracting or delegating it?

  8. What is your weekly availability, and how quickly do you usually respond to messages?

  9. What is your hourly rate?

  10. Why are you interested in an ongoing collaboration rather than short-term assignments?

Please also include your GitHub profile, a Django code sample, or a verifiable project. If your previous projects are confidential, you may provide an anonymized example.

Generic applications that do not answer the questions above will not be considered.
