Programming & Development Web Development & Design

We are hiring an experienced front-end developer to help us select, purchase (we pay), and customize a modern, high-performance website template similar in structure and polish to a site like WhiteHouse.gov.

This is not one website. We need a reusable template system we can deploy to multiple domain names on HostGator cPanel, where each domain can be customized (branding, colors, content, images) without programming.

What we need

1) Template selection (we pay for the template)

You will propose 2–5 template options that meet our requirements, explain pros and cons, confirm licensing allows multi-site use, and help us purchase the best option.

2) Template customization into a reusable system

After purchase, you will customize the template so we can deploy it repeatedly across many domains with an easy non-programmer workflow.

3) Deploy and configure the first domain

You must install and fully configure the first site on our HostGator cPanel as proof the system works.

Hosting requirement

We use HostGator cPanel. The site must be deployable by uploading files to public_html (or equivalent). If your approach requires a build step, that is fine, but the final output must be uploadable to cPanel and run fast.

Template requirements (non-negotiable)Platform and performance

  • No WordPress

  • Must be static-first: HTML/CSS/JS template (or a static-build template that outputs static files)

  • Clean, modern code and structure

  • Fast load times and mobile performance

Design and structure (WhiteHouse.gov style, not identical)

We want that general feel: professional, structured, clear navigation, strong typography, and a “news/updates” capability.

Core features required

  • Hero carousel/slider at the top (rotating images)

    • Headline, subheadline, and button(s)

    • Easy to change slides per domain

  • Navigation

    • Clean top menu

    • Works on mobile (mobile menu)

    • Supports anchors to sections on the home page and standard pages

  • Single-page home + internal detail pages

    • Long home page with multiple sections

    • Buttons linking to additional pages like /about, /programs, /news, etc.

  • Section system

    • Easy to add, remove, reorder sections on the home page

    • Recommended sections: About, Mission/Values, Programs/Services, News/Updates, Media/Gallery (optional), Contact

  • Forms

    • Multiple forms on one site (different subjects)

    • Spam protection

    • Clear submission routing instructions

  • Branding customization per domain

    • Change logo

    • Change color scheme (primary/secondary/background/button)

    • Update footer, contact info, social links

    • Replace images and hero carousel content

Non-programmer maintenance requirement (critical)

We must be able to manage content for each domain without coding.

Acceptable approaches include:

  • A simple admin interface if it remains static and cPanel-compatible, or

  • A simple content workflow (clearly explained) using editable content files (Markdown/YAML/JSON) with a straightforward process

If normal updates require editing complex code, rebuilding the whole project in a developer toolchain, or risky manual changes, it is not a fit.

SEO and quality requirements

  • Proper headings (H1/H2)

  • Editable meta titles and meta descriptions per page

  • Clean URLs

  • Open Graph metadata support

  • Image optimization and lazy-loading

  • Reasonable accessibility (contrast, labels, readable layout)

Deliverables

  1. Template shortlist (2–5 options) with licensing notes and recommendation

  2. Purchased template setup and customization

  3. Reusable multi-domain deployment method

  4. First domain installed and configured on HostGator cPanel

  5. Written instructions for non-programmers covering:

    • How to deploy to a new domain in cPanel

    • How to change branding (colors, logo)

    • How to update hero carousel

    • How to edit sections and pages

    • How to manage menus

    • How to manage forms and spam protection

Application instructions (Required)

We ignore generic and AI-generated proposals. If you do not answer these questions, we will not respond.

Start your proposal with:
“I READ THE QUESTIONS”

Then answer all questions numbered:

  1. What template marketplaces or sources will you use to find templates that meet our requirements, and why?

  2. What exact template characteristics will you filter for to ensure it is clean, modern, fast, and maintainable?

  3. How will you ensure the template license allows multi-domain use?

  4. What is your plan to make the template easy for non-programmers to maintain (content, menus, hero carousel, colors)?

  5. How will forms be handled on cPanel hosting, including spam protection and routing?

  6. Provide 3 examples of relevant work (template customization or static sites). State your role.

  7. What is your timeline estimate for (a) template selection shortlist and (b) first site deployed after purchase?

  8. Confirm you will provide full documentation and help us deploy the first site. Yes or no.

Automatic disqualification

  • Proposes WordPress

  • Cannot explain a non-programmer editing workflow

  • Cannot show relevant work

  • Does not answer the required questions

    Please provide:
    1. Links to similar projects.
    2. Links to suggested templates (unless you are developing the template) and explain why
    3. Estimated delivery days.

We have many such projects.  A successful delivery is the beginning of many projects to follow.

We look forward to working with you.
