Senior Mobile Developer — TinderWealth (AI Fintech / Silicon Valley) — Long-Term
About TinderWealth
TinderWealth is a Silicon Valley-based AI-powered fintech platform and SEC-registered investment advisor redefining how everyday investors manage their financial lives. We're building the intersection of professional financial advisory, goal-based investing, and financial literacy — think LinkedIn meets Robinhood meets a personal CFO, all in one platform.
Our platform serves two audiences simultaneously: investors who want to set financial goals, build portfolios, find SEC-registered advisors, and connect with a community of like-minded people — and financial advisors who need a modern, compliant workspace to manage clients, propose portfolios, and grow their practice. We process data on over 400,000 registered advisors and 45,000 advisory firms from SEC IARD/CRD filings, integrate with Interactive Brokers and Axos for live brokerage account management, and use OpenAI to power advisor matching, coaching, and intelligent recommendations.
The codebase is mature, production-grade, and large — a Django/DRF backend with a React frontend, deployed on AWS EKS with Celery/Redis task infrastructure, Stripe for subscriptions, and integrations with Morningstar, Nasdaq, Redtail CRM, and Smarsh. All APIs are live, well-structured, and ready for mobile consumption. You would be building the mobile app from the ground up against this existing backend.
This is a long-term engagement with a senior developer who grows with the product. We are not looking for someone to learn on the job.
The Role
We are looking for a senior mobile developer to own the TinderWealth mobile experience end-to-end. You will work directly with the founder, who is the lead backend developer, to translate the existing web platform into a first-class mobile app for iOS and Android.
The platform has significant depth — not because any individual feature is complicated, but because features are numerous and highly interconnected. Investor onboarding flows connect to KYC, which connects to brokerage account opening, which connects to portfolio construction, which connects to goal tracking and advisor matching. Getting mobile right means understanding how these pieces fit together, not just building isolated screens.
This engagement starts small and grows. We expect to begin with a few hours per week to establish the working relationship, evaluate fit, and scope the architecture together. If that goes well — and we expect it will with the right person — the engagement grows substantially from there. We are looking for someone who is in this for the long run.
Framework
We are open to the right technical approach and want to hear your recommendation after you have explored the platform. That said, our existing frontend is built in React and our strong bias is toward React Native for its code reuse potential, single codebase simplicity, and the fact that our APIs are already production-ready. If you have a compelling case for a different approach — native iOS + Android, Flutter, or otherwise — we are genuinely open to hearing it, but you should come with clear reasoning.
Your framework recommendation, and the thinking behind it, is part of how we evaluate candidates.
Requirements
Non-negotiable:
- 5+ years of hands-on mobile development experience, with shipped production apps on both iOS and Android
- Strong portfolio of complex, data-driven mobile applications — fintech, healthtech, or similarly regulated domains preferred
- Deep expertise in REST API integration, token-based authentication, and secure data handling on mobile
- Experience with real-time data, push notifications, and mobile-specific UX patterns
- Native or perfectly fluent English — written and spoken. This is a direct collaboration with the founding team and communication quality matters.
- US-based strongly preferred — we may consider exceptional candidates in UTC-5 or closer time zones
- Available for a long-term engagement with room to grow
Strong plus:
- Hands-on React Native experience
- Familiarity with React — our web frontend design language will carry over to mobile
- Prior experience with financial or brokerage platforms
- Familiarity with SEC compliance constraints on client-facing communications and data display
- Experience working embedded in a small, high-output engineering team
Hourly Rate
This is a long-term engagement and we price it accordingly. We expect to pay a competitive rate for a senior candidate. We recognize that stable, long-term work commands a different rate than short-term projects, and we price accordingly. Rate is negotiable based on experience, portfolio, and framework expertise.
We are not looking for the cheapest option — we are looking for the best fit for a multi-year collaboration.
