Introduction:

We are a new US based (east coast) wholesale furniture company, looking to establish our own manufacturing production facility within the Dominican Republic. We will be specializing in all style types of mid-high end luxury furniture products (see link at the bottom for sample pictures), our goal is to create exquisite, unique (one of a kind), high quality furniture pieces for both the retail and supplier wholesale markets.  As we embark on this new venture, we are seeking an experienced “reasonably priced” start-up consultant/coordinator with expertise in all aspects of furniture development and production to assist us in strategizing, structure, and  developing our manufacturing operations from the ground up, successfully launching our new production venture within the Dominican Republic.  


To ensure the success of our business, we need someone with in-depth knowledge of luxury furniture development, manufacturing processes, and operations, from initial design to the finished product requiring expertise development in every stage of the production cycle.  We are looking to manufacture a wide variety of luxury furniture products, including **bedroom, living room, dining room, **modern, contemporary, European, Italian, **solid wood, metal, upholstered, functionality furniture, mattresses, and many more (everything furniture related). 


Our initial budget to get this venture off the ground is very limited, the right candidate will need to be creative in strategizing on how we can minimize our start-up investment cost, which can potentially be achieved by; (1) starting off with a very small scale operation, possibly a well developed workshop with minimal equipment and a handful of skilled workers. This allows us to start-off with minimal manufacturing, concentrating on our immediate production needs, while simultaneously focusing on the development and growth of the business. (2) instead of investing a substantial amount of capital in the beginning on equipment cost, it may be more feasible to contract and outsource whatever work we can to local shops and other businesses at pre-negotiated rates, and then invest into the needed equipment and facilities as we grow. 

 

Project scope of work:

***Key responsibilities will encompass, but is not limited to***

*Developing a strategic and comprehensive “detailed” business  and operating plan *Offer insights, strategic and cost saving ideas on outsourcing needs, sourcing wholesale high quality raw materials and suppliers (locally and abroad) *Developing production processes, plans, and procedures that maximize efficiency and minimize cost. organizational structure, compliance, and efficient quality control measures to ensure that our furniture production meets the highest standards. *Knowledgeable and have a deep understanding of the exact type of tools, and equipment needed to properly produce high quality furniture products *Providing expertise in the design concept phase, ensuring that our furniture pieces are both aesthetically pleasing, functional, and structurally sound. *Assist in developing and implementing marketing plans and sales strategies to promote our luxury furniture products and brand, driving growth to attract customers *Providing ongoing support and mentorship to our team as needed before and during initial production


Qualifications:

*Must provide details of your proven experience in the furniture industry, particularly in the development and manufacturing of high-end luxury furniture *Deep understanding of all aspects of furniture design concepts, engineering, production techniques and quality standards *Someone that is skilled and experienced in the development and production of mechanized furniture that utilize electrical and mechanical components such as; electric recline mechanism, LED lighting, bluetooth stereo, and various other functionalities *Strong business acumen with a track record of successfully launching and scaling businesses *Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively
