About the Role:
We’re seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead a small, talented Ruby on Rails development team. You’ll manage our Jira workflow, facilitate sprint ceremonies, clear blockers, and ensure projects are delivered on time and aligned with business goals. This isn’t a coding job, but technical fluency is key.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Jira boards, workflows, and reporting
- Run daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming
- Track progress and remove blockers for the dev team
- Communicate project status to stakeholders and leadership
- Prioritize bugs, hotfixes, and tech debt alongside feature work
- Oversee deployments and support post-deploy QA
- QA changes when they are deployed to staging and production
- Monitor team metrics (velocity, cycle time, defect rates)
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and designers
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of Ruby on Rails development concepts
- Experience managing projects in Jira
- Proficiency with Kanban processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with web app infrastructure (MySQL, Redis, Sidekiq, CI/CD, Postman)
- Bonus: SQL querying, API testing, and log reading skills
