Five-Part Male A Cappella Arrangement & Rehearsal Tracks
I am looking for an experienced vocal arranger to create a warm, emotional five-part male a cappella arrangement of the traditional Irish song The Parting Glass.
This is a family project. Five brothers will be singing it together for our father, Peter, so the arrangement should be beautiful, heartfelt and achievable for amateur singers.
Deliverables
Please provide:
A complete five-part arrangement for:
- Tenor 1
- Tenor 2
- Baritone
- Bass 1
- Bass 2
A professionally engraved PDF score with lyrics.
Separate rehearsal audio tracks for each part.
- Each track should feature one part clearly emphasised while the other four parts are quieter.
- Please use sung voices if possible. If not, high-quality vocal sounds or piano are acceptable.
A full recording with all five parts together.
Individual audio files containing each part sung on its own.
MIDI files for each individual part (if available).
Musical Style
Please aim for:
- Traditional Irish pub harmony rather than classical choir.
- Rich, warm, close harmonies.
- Emotional but restrained.
- Comfortable vocal ranges for adult men.
- Easy to learn by ear.
- No overly difficult jumps or advanced jazz harmonies.
- The melody should remain clear and recognisable.
Think of the sound of five brothers standing together in a country church or around a family table.
Tempo
Moderate and reflective—not too slow.
Key
Please choose a key that suits average adult male voices. If possible, also provide advice if another key would better suit lower voices.
Lyrics
Please use the traditional lyrics of The Parting Glass.
Audio Quality
Please export rehearsal tracks as high-quality MP3 files.
Timeline
I'd appreciate completion within one week if possible.
